1. Plan your display on paper - It is a good idea to draw your display out on paper. Research different elements you would like in your display and arrange them in a diagram. This will give you an idea of the way your display will be viewed by visitors. You also need to map out your extension cords and where all your cords will be ran to avoid any danger or trip hazards.

2. How much power will your display require? - Power is always an issue when creating any large display. By drawing your display out on paper, you will have a good idea of the number of lights your display will require. Read the manufactures label to see how many amps each stand of lights will require. You want to make sure you have enough power and not create a fire hazard or any other dangers by overloading your circuits. It is very important to not overload any extension cords, outlets, or circuit breakers.

5. Synchronizing the light show to music - Synchronizing your display in the software application is by far the most time consuming task of all. Each minute of a song will take anywhere from 3 to 10 hours to synchronize correctly. You will also be able to create a animation window in the software that will give you an idea of how your display will appear in real life. There are many different effects you can apply to your display. Such effects as shimmer, fade up, fade down, twinkle, or intensity control are all great effects that add magic of your display.

8. Allowing plenty of time to install the display. - Allow yourself plenty of time to install your display. When you create a computerized display, you will greatly increase the number of extension cords you will need. All this requires a great deal of time to install. You want to make sure everything is safe and clean looking. Don’t just throw your lights around. Make sure your lights are installed with clips or the appropriate hanging devices. A sloppy installation job will greatly distract from all the other hard work you have put into your display.

9. Dealing with traffic issues - One thing to consider when creating a computerized display is TRAFFIC… People want to sit and watch your display. If you live on a busy street, you might want to consider how traffic will flow to and from your display. It is a great idea to put a voiceover in between each song reminding visitors to not block neighbors driveways, allow the right of way for neighbors, and turn their headlights off while viewing the display. Also, if traffic becomes a problem, it is a good idea to limit your display to one song. After a person hears a song and it starts to play again, they will usually drive off because they have already heard the song.

As a world renowned helicopter flyer with tons of medals, plaques, and rewards, I know a lot about blades on remote control helicopters, and the problems that they can sometimes cause. Apparently, like the man who left a good review for a company that he didn’t really know enough about to write an educated review, there are also stories about people who left poor reviews and the product was actually quite good, and then they were never asked to write a review for any company ever again, and this cost them money as well.

So the moral of the story is, always make sure that your reviews are well researched and that you don’t put your name on anything unless you really trust that it is a quality product, but at the same time, it’s very easy to just write poorly about something, but you should also avoid that if you ever want to be sanctioned for another review again. As far as the remote control helicopter blades go, I was very lucky to take part in a detailed remote control helicopter blade testing session, so I could see what are important things to check when you’re looking into purchasing another remote control helicopter for your collection, and especially when you’re getting ready to purchase your very first remote control helicopter.

Essentially, the blades are very important. They need to be durable, in case you are not a very good flyer, because it is the blades that will often run into things and become damaged. At the same time, you don’t want the blades to be too sharp, because you don’t want them to damage any of your other things, especially if you’re flying the helicopter in your home (which I try to discourage in every situation, but people still do it). So all in all, you’re best off going with a helicopter that has strong metal or plastic bladesalthough the plastic blades tend to be lighter, so they are sometimes the better bet, but the metal blades tend to be more durable, so it’s really anyone’s guess. And you also want to look for blades that are rounded at the edges. This is no only good because rounded edges are more aerodynamic, it’s also good because you can protect yourself and your loved ones from cutting themselves on the helicopter blades when they are, for instance, taking a helicopter down from a high shelf.

I know of a friend who had a helicopter on a high shelf, and she didn’t know to get rounded blades, and when she reached to take it down, she dropped it, and actually cut her hands pretty badly. She didn’t need stitches, but it was still a scary incident for her that she could have avoided by just getting a helicopter with rounded edges. In other cases, I hear about people that got metal blades on their helicopters, and the rest of the helicopter wasn’t built powerfully enough to support the heavy metal blades, and these helicopters never fly properly.

So anytime you are evaluating binoculars, there are two numbers associated with the set. So if the binoculars have a rating of 15-40, that means that the ocular lenses magnify 15 times and the later number is a relative number to how much of the sky you can see. The higher the second number, the more you can see. The explanation is simple. The bigger the lens, the more light it lets in. But be aware that the bigger the second number, the larger, heavier and more cumbersome the binoculars will be.

You will have to balance these two numbers with both your budget and what you want the binoculars to do for you. If you decide to go with a lower power binoculars, you could become frustrated with what you can see and you may have to take your eyes away from the view to get your orientation and consult the star map more often because your range of vision is so limited.

There will also be a temptation to buy a set of binoculars that have zoom functions and other features that will allow you to use it for other purposes such as hunting, whale watching or seeing the football game from the cheap seats. While this is good economy, those functions will get in the way when you are using the binoculars for astronomy. So if you are considering this purchase as your alternative to buying a telescope, our advice is buy binoculars made just for astronomy and don’t take them to the ball game.

Getting ready

1. If you’re bound for a fishing trip to the North Country, expect to spend much on transportation, your outfit, licenses and permits. For a lot of people, the trip’s highlight will be fishing. For this reason, you should get yourself a new line on your reel.

Fishing Regulations

Carry your license with you

Residents of Canada should have a fishing-version Outdoors Card and must have a fishing license tag that is attached to it so that it can be considered as valid.

Non Canadian residents should have their basic license form signed and have the correct license tag fastened in order that it can be considered valid.

Keep in mind always that a Outdoors Card or non-resident license card is non-transferable; it grants privileges to you alone. It should be carried with you each time you go fishing.

Note too, that whenever a Conservation Officer requests to see and examine your license, the law requires you to show it.

State and District Regulations

State and District rules control angling in Ontario.
